The first lineage of a species of the French Bulldog appeared in 1880. However, it was a result of a mixture of ancient and varied breeds, such as the Molosoides of Epirus and the Molosos of the Roman Empire (a breed that also originated in the English Bulldog).

Characteristics

The French Bulldog is a small size dog, although due to its muscles it has a compact body distribution, it weighs 14kg without appearing to be overweight.

They are also known to have large, pointy ears, like those of a bat. This gives them an excellent sense of hearing, but on the other hand, due to the shape of their trunk, they have a diminished sense of smell compared to other races.

They can have a strong jaw, especially considering the size of the French Bulldog.

Thanks to its muscles and its body, it is a strongly built race. This is because this breed has a raised spine in relation to the tail, in addition to having a broad back compared to the rest of the body.

Special cares

Due to the folds formed in his face and spine, he may develop fungus or dermatitis in these areas if these are not cleaned regularly.
