Peru is a magical country that was considered by many people as one of the most beautiful in Latin America, has a fantastic culture and an impressive architecture that makes this nation one of the most attractive for tourists worldwide.

Far from just being able to be visited and explored in the most conventional and touristic way, Peru is a sublime place that can be visited even as a backpacker.

Although traveling in this way is something spectacular, the big problem is that, on many occasions, it becomes impossible to take our pets, since the long transfers and some places that will be covered can be so risky for our pets that in most Sometimes the best thing to do is not to take them with us.

However, we will tell below the story of an owner who could not leave his dog behind, he decided to take the furry one with him to get to know the wonders of Peru together.

Inseparable friends

It all started when Claudio Alfonso and his fiancee Angélica Gutiérrez traveled to the Inca nation to tour the country from end to end, on a journey that would represent for them a new and familiar experience at the same time, as they had previously traveled to other countries in the South America.

As soon as they arrived in Peru, Claudio began to miss his beautiful 3-year-old Labrador dog, called Bumer, which has always been characterized by being not only beautiful and loving, but also exceedingly faithful, which motivated its owner to make a decision as risky as it is incredible.

It’s that, together with his wife Angelica, they chose to take a plane and quickly return to their home in Colombia, to pick up the couple’s four-legged best friend, who was being taken care of by Claudio’s father, as at all times. who traveled.

On a bicycle throughout Peru

You might be wondering how Bumer could travel all over Peru on a backpacker trip, right? What is most surprising is that Claudio and Angelica designed a kind of bicycle with a space in the back to accommodate the animal, without any kind of danger to the beautiful Labrador Retriever.

Although the dog spent most of the trip in this unique vehicle, on some occasions they walked with Bumer beside them, in order to offer the dog the experience of being able to walk with their owners in an unknown place full of rare beauty.

As Claudio commented, the walks could only be done from 7 am to 10 am, as the sun was so strong that it forced them to take a break and then continue their journey in the Inca country, moreover, in this way the dog wouldn’t get so tired.

Despite the difficulty of getting around in some areas, the three managed to cover all of Peru in approximately 8 months, a time that made the dog a real star in every town and city they visited, people showed their affection and petted him, wishing they could all of them very lucky on the trip.

Their crossing was so impactful in this country that, in addition to being invited to participate in a television program to tell how the trip had been, a well-known animal food brand found out what they were doing and offered them both a veterinarian and the entire food that the dog needed.

After being taken back home after falling ill in Bolivia, Bumer continued to enjoy his life for another 11 years and, along with Claudio, lived other unique experiences.

Although the dog was no longer able to accompany its owner on his travels, the owner always traveled, every 15 days, back to his house to make sure the dog was okay and to spend some time with his beloved pet.

Bumer died at the age of 14, but it is not only Claudio who will never be able to forget him, he will also be unforgettable for everyone who could see him in Peru, sitting happily on his bicycle.
