Meet A Dog Who Loves Horror Movies

Meet a dog with horror movies

It is true that people sometimes pursue what is bad for them, or perhaps bad is a very strong word, let’s say what causes a little anxiety. The reason we do this is unknown, but what about when a dog does this? How can we explain? Today we’ll talk about a dog who loves horror movies and, although he suffers, he can’t stop watching them.

When we talk about this topic, the question always arises: do dogs really watch television?

A dog fond of horror movies

The story of this horror movie aficionado dog may or may not answer that question. We’ll share a video where you can see how a little dog, on the couch in his house, is watching a horror movie.

As you can see in the video, the dog is more than comfortable watching a horror movie, until in a scene, let’s say scarier, the animal has the instinct and feels the need to hide on the couch. What is it that really scares you? Can dogs watch television and understand scenes, whether horror or otherwise?

Do dogs watch television?

It comes as no surprise to dog owners that the pet often keeps its eyes fixed on the screen. In fact, if you live alone, your dog is likely to be a companion with whom you can watch a movie and even eat popcorn together.

To what extent do dogs understand what they see on television? A few years ago, an LG commercial showed many dogs staring at the TV and moving closer when other dogs appeared on the screen.

There are even channels that emit relaxing colors and music for dogs in order to calm them down and make them have a different experience.

Well then, a National Geographic study explains that dogs can process television images and that, contrary to urban legend, dogs don’t see in black and white, but in color. Not like humans, as our chromatic range has 3 base colors that can form a multitude of shades: red, blue and yellow, but dogs only have two: blue and yellow.

Even so, they can see the world in color and can perfectly differentiate what they see on the small screen, as is the case with the dog who loves horror movies.

In fact, the study reaffirms the idea that dogs can recognize animals, even if they’ve never seen them before, as well as the barks and other sounds that TV broadcasts.

Why then do dogs sometimes ignore TV?

Well, your dog has his personality and the fact that he sometimes likes to watch television doesn’t mean he wants to watch it all the time, just like you do.

Also, there may be sounds or images on certain television programs that do not appeal to the animal and so it is simply not interested.

If you have to leave your dog alone at home for several hours while you work or go elsewhere, there is a channel called DogTv, from the United States, which broadcasts dog-specific content 24 hours a day. Set the TV to turn off on its own, as it wouldn’t be good for your dog to spend all day in front of the TV. An hour or two will be more than enough.

Also do not think that television will be a substitute for games or walks, it is just a complement for your dog to be happy, especially when he is alone at home.

All in all, in the case of the horror movie aficionado, what scared him? It is very likely that he does not understand the image itself, but perhaps the scene is unpleasant for him and, besides, the screams were not attractive to the dog either.
